An Taibhdhearc theatre seeks a full-time technician. Applicants should have experience of working in a theatre.

QUALIFICATIONS: The full-time technician should have previous experience of working in theatre, and/or live staged events; and should have experience of handling, rigging and operating electrical, lighting and sound equipment. Relevant training or qualifications such as Stage Pass, Health and Safety, and First Aid would be an advantage.

GENERAL DUTIES shall include, on a full-time basis: to act as technician in the theatre; to liaise on the production schedule for each visiting company, ensuring that all elements are in place to facilitate each show; to act as advisor to groups/artists using the theatre and supervise the use of equipment by visitors to protect it; to advise the Theatre Manager on repairs and renewals, or replacement of equipment and facilities as necessary; to circulate and ensure Staff awareness of Health & Safety policy; to comply with in-house policies, systems and procedures at all times; to carry out any other tasks that will from time to time be allocated by the Manager on an ad hoc basis; to keep proper time sheets to submit to the Manager for each show/event worked. The above list is not an exhaustive list of the duties pertaining to this position.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: The full-time technician will be responsible to the Manager of An Taibhdhearc for the performance of the duties set out above, and to the Chairperson and the Board of An Taibhdhearc Company, as required.

SALARY: Terms of remuneration to be discussed according to the candidate’s level of qualification and experience.
