Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin

Lonnaithe i mBaile Átha Cliath, is amhránaí, scríbhneoir agus ceoltóir iluirlise é Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin. Tógadh é leis an amhránaíocht ar an sean-nós agus tá sé fós go smior ina cheol. Thaifead agus chas sé le neart bannaí le Skipper's Alley, Aon Teanga:Un Chengey agus Jiggy san áireamh. Bhain a albam le hUltan O’Brien ‘Best Folk Album’ amach ag ‘the RTÉ Folk Awards’ sa bhliain 2021.

Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin comes from a robust Connemara singing tradition. He has already forged a formidable identity in his 2021 duet album with Ultan O’Brien (Solas an lae) and in the band, Skipper’s Alley. This solo collection could be seen as a companion piece to recent albums by Lankum and John Francie Flynn (the latter also a bandmate).

Ó Ceannabháin’s richly textured voice draws deep from the well in his reading of Róisín Dubh, but the rest of the songs are of his own making, and they are as full of muscle, melancholy and mellow reflection as anything we’ve inherited from previous generations.

The Curly Organ

Tabharfaidh The Curly Organ taispeántas ar leith, lán de spraoi, ceol agus diabhlaíocht chuig stáitse na Taibhdheirce. Bhain The Curly Organ clú agus cáil amach óna seónna sráide ar nós Catcalling Outside AIB agus Tír na Micreafón. Tá sé ar intinn ag The Curly Organ taithí an duine daonna a phlé agus na mothúcháin atá istigh againn a scaoileadh amach thríd an cheoil. Bhí Dónal mar cheannaire ceoil ar an 424 Brass Band, a bhí le feiceáil ar Sráid Láir na Gaillimhe ar Oíche Chultúir 2022.

The Curly Organ’s is one of eccentricities and singularities, seeming to introduce a litany of characters and scenarios over breathless verses, switching from falsetto to mile a minute wordplay, before moving onto a new idea.
